Maura Higgins Stands Strong: Highlights from Her I’m a Celebrity Adventure

Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles participated in the Bushtucker Trial on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. They ate various unusual dishes, including pig’s eyeballs, cockroaches, and goat’s testicle.

The challenge involved eating 12 themed dishes to win a junk food buffet for their campmates. Higgins started with pig’s eyeballs, while Coles faced a salad made of cockroaches and crickets. Before eating, Coles made a light-hearted blessing, saying, “For what we’re about to receive…”

Higgins took on drinks made from blended beachworms, scorpions on a chocolate eclair, and goat’s testicle. Host Ant McPartlin noted her direct approach as “very impressive.” Coles then tried fermented herring, which he found especially unpleasant, alongside pig’s snout and crocodile anus.

The pair’s final dishes included a grub, cow’s teat, bull’s penis, snails, vomit fruit, sheep’s brain, and giant mealworm. They successfully completed the task, winning all portions available.

Coleen Rooney suspected they were lying about living in a difficult camp. After the trial, she stated, “I am glad to confirm my suspicions were right; they’ve been living in luxury. But that eating challenge was tough. I think they’ve redeemed themselves.”

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continues on Virgin Media One and ITV1.
