Congratulations are in order for “Stranger Things” star Maya Hawke and musician Christian Lee Hutson. The couple married in a surprise Valentine’s Day ceremony in New York City, People reports.
The intimate ceremony, held on February 14th, was attended by a close circle of family and friends, including Hawke’s parents, actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. A significant gathering of Hawke’s “Stranger Things” co-stars were also present, with Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery all sharing in the celebration.
Hawke, 27, known for her role as Robin Buckley in the Netflix hit series which concluded in 2025, wore a white wedding dress paired with an oversized, feathery winter coat. Hutson, 35, opted for a traditional tuxedo. Thurman was seen in a light blue gown, while Ethan Hawke chose an all-black ensemble. Maya Hawke’s brother, Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke, was also among the attendees.
The wedding follows a period of public acknowledgment of their relationship. Hutson confirmed Hawke was his fiancée in an interview with SoCal Sound Sessions in March 2025. Prior to the wedding, Hawke was photographed wearing a diamond ring in Manhattan in April 2025, and the couple made their red carpet debut that same month at the opening night of “John Proctor Is the Villain” in New York City, where Hawke supported her “Stranger Things” co-star Sadie Sink.
Hawke and Hutson reportedly met through music, a shared passion that has also fueled their creative collaboration. Hawke has released three studio albums, including “Chaos Angel” in 2024, and confirmed she co-wrote songs with Hutson for his album “Paradise Pop. 10,” sharing her admiration for his talent on Instagram in July 2024. “I am lucky enough to know this guy @christianleehutson he is a poet musical genius,” she wrote. “I was lucky enough to get to write with him on some of this incredible music.”
Hutson, formerly a member of “The Driftwood Singers,” launched his solo career in 2019 and has since released three albums, including “Paradise Pop. 10” in 2024.
Representatives for both Hawke and Hutson have been contacted for comment.
