Last-Minute Purchase Proves Lucky
The winning ticket was purchased at Duffy’s Costcutter on Turlough Road, Castlebar, just before the raffle’s cut-off time. Monahan bought two Quick Pick tickets – one for himself and one for a friend who was waiting in his car. A playful decision to let his friend choose between the left and right tickets resulted in Monahan holding the winning one.
