A legendary moment unfolded Saturday night in Liverpool as Paul McCartney unexpectedly joined Bruce Springsteen onstage. During Springsteen’s encore at Anfield, the home of Liverpool FC, McCartney emerged to thunderous applause.
The pair launched into a spirited rendition of The Beatles’ iconic hit, “Can’t Buy Me Love,” originally released in 1964. They followed up with a lively performance of “Kansas City,” a rock ‘n’ roll standard popularized by Little Richard in 1955. The crowd erupted as two music icons shared the stage, delivering a memorable experiance for all in attendance.
This appearance reciprocated Springsteen’s guest spot during McCartney’s 2022 Glastonbury set. The two previously collaborated on “Glory Days” and “I Wanna Be Your man” at both Glastonbury and a “Get Back” tour stop in New Jersey.
