Key Players Return to Training
Ulster Rugby has received positive news on the injury front as center stuart McCloskey has returned to full training following a groin injury sustained during international duty with ireland in November. McCloskey, 33, previously experienced groin issues during the Quilter Nations Series matches against New Zealand and Australia, causing him to miss four games for both club and contry.
Adding further strength to the backline, center Jude Postlethwaite is also expected to be available for selection. Postlethwaite missed last week’s match against cardiff due to a concussion suffered during the Challenge Cup win against Racing 92 on December 9,2023,but has recovered well.
Front Row Concerns Ahead of Aviva Stadium Test
The team faces challenges in the front row, however. Loosehead prop Callum Reid, who was sidelined last week against Cardiff due to illness, is anticipated to be fit to play against Leinster at Aviva Stadium on Friday.Sadly, former Leinster tighthead Rory McGuire will miss the match after sustaining an ankle injury that requires an MRI scan to assess the extent of the damage.
McGuire joins a growing list of unavailable players, including Rob herring, Iain Henderson, and Michael Lowry, presenting a significant challenge to head coach Richie Murphy’s team selection for this crucial Interpro fixture.
