McDonald’s Korea Strengthens Information Security System with ISMS Certification
McDonald’s Korea has obtained the ‘Information Security Management System Certification (ISMS)’ from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), a comprehensive information security management system certification system.
The ISMS certification system evaluates the establishment of a company’s information security management system and information security activities, awarding certification after reviewing the suitability of performance results and crisis management capabilities.
McDonald’s Korea secured ISMS certification after approximately one year of full-scale preparation with close cooperation between internal departments. The scope of certification includes external service areas such as the official website, McDelivery service, recruitment, Voice of Customer (VOC), and coupon app.
By establishing a more reliable information protection environment through ISMS certification, McDonald’s Korea can prevent hacking and other security breaches with enhanced business stability, responding more quickly when an incident occurs.
The company has secured a legal basis for ethical and transparent management by complying with laws and regulations related to information protection, laying the foundation for more safely protecting the company’s information assets through systematic information protection risk management.
Having proven the stability and reliability of information in the external service area through this certification, McDonald’s Korea plans to maintain a high level of information security system through subsequent post-audits and renewal audits conducted once a year.
A McDonald’s official stated, “We have acquired this ISMS certification to establish a high-level information security system, allowing customers to continue to trust and use the services provided by McDonald’s Korea in the future. We will continue to seek out various ways to strengthen our information protection capabilities in the future.”
