McDonald’s is teaming up with Netflix to launch a limited-edition Happy Meal inspired by the animated series “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85.” The collaboration, announced on April 24, 2026, brings elements of the Hawkins, Indiana universe to McDonald’s locations across North America.
The Happy Meal will be available beginning May 5 in the United States and Puerto Rico, according to Netflix. In Canada and Mexico, the meal will launch earlier, on April 28, 2026. This rollout coincides with the streaming premiere of all 10 episodes of “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85,” which debuted on Netflix on April 23, 2026.
Each Happy Meal includes a custom “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85”-inspired box, one of 12 collectible character toys, a “Stranger Things” activity book, and a QR code that unlocks a digital experience and interactive game. The game allows fans to help save Hawkins from monsters, extending the animated series’ narrative into an interactive format.
The animated series “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85” follows Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max as they confront new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery terrorizing their town. Eric Robles serves as showrunner, while the Duffer Brothers are executive producers on the project.
This partnership represents another major collaboration between McDonald’s and Netflix, combining the fast-food chain’s promotional reach with the streaming platform’s popular intellectual property. The collectible nature of the 12 available toys is expected to drive repeat visits and engagement among fans of the franchise.
