Vince McMahon Involved in High-Speed Crash on Connecticut Parkway

Westport, CT – February 26, 2026 – Newly released police video shows former WWE CEO Vince McMahon’s luxury sportscar colliding with another vehicle after traveling at over 100 mph on a Connecticut highway last summer. The incident occurred on the Merritt Parkway in Westport on July 24, 2025, the same day WWE legend Hulk Hogan died of a heart attack in Florida.

The video, obtained by The Associated Press, depicts McMahon, now 80, driving a 2024 Bentley Continental GT at a speed exceeding 100 mph (160 kph) when he crashed into the rear of a BMW. A state trooper was reportedly attempting to clock McMahon’s speed prior to the incident, but the situation did not escalate into a pursuit, according to police.

Dashcam footage shows McMahon accelerating and then braking, ultimately failing to avoid hitting the BMW. The Bentley then swerved into a guardrail before careening back across the highway, sending up a cloud of dirt and debris. Another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction was struck by flying debris, and, notably, the driver of that vehicle was wearing a WWE shirt, police stated.

Following the crash, Connecticut State Police Detective Maxwell Robins questioned McMahon. “Why were you driving all over 100 mph?” Robins asked, to which McMahon replied, “I got my granddaughter’s birthday.” The exchange was captured on police bodycam video.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the crash. Damage was sustained to the rear of the BMW, and the third vehicle also required repairs. McMahon was cited for reckless driving and following too closely.

In October 2025, a state judge allowed McMahon to enter a pretrial probation program. Successful completion of the program, which concludes next October, will result in the charges being erased from his record. As part of the agreement, McMahon was also ordered to make a $1,000 charitable contribution.

The Bentley Continental GT, according to reports, can cost over $300,000. The incident raises questions about responsible driving, even as McMahon explained his haste was due to a family commitment. The case highlights the potential consequences of excessive speed and the importance of maintaining safe following distances on the highway.
