Mechanic Discovers His £13,000 Bentley Was Once Owned by Bullseye’s Jim Bowen
Mechanic Discovers Bentley’s Celebrity Past
Joe Hewes, a 31-year-old mechanic from Market Harborough, Leicestershire, recently purchased a £13,000 Bentley R Turbo. He was unaware that it was once owned by Jim Bowen, the famous host of the TV show Bullseye.
The Purchase
Joe found the 1997 Bentley for sale on eBay. He liked it so much that he offered the full asking price without seeing it in person. He requested that the previous owner drive the car to his farm to confirm its good working condition. The seller complied and revealed the car’s famous past upon delivery.
Special Features
The Bentley is a rare model that was top of the range during its time. It includes luxurious features such as walnut dinner trays, sheepskin carpets, and heated seats. Joe enjoys using the car for outings with friends and his dog.
Connection to Jim Bowen
Jim Bowen hosted Bullseye from 1981 to 1995, a show that attracted up to 20 million viewers at its peak. Bowen became known for his catchphrases, including “Super, smashing, great.” Joe, who remembers watching old episodes with his parents, expressed excitement about owning a car that belonged to a TV legend.
Joe said, “I always wanted a Bentley, and now I’ve got one that belonged to Jim.”
