Medan Police Shuffles Top Brass

In a major shakeup, North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumut) Chief Irjen. Whisnu Hermawan Februanto has announced significant changes in the leadership of Polrestabes Medan and several police divisions across North Sumatra. The changes were outlined in a statement signed by Polda Sumut’s Chief of Human Resources, Kombes Bony Sirait, on January 24, 2025.

Under the new allocations, Ps. Kapolsek, Kasat Reskrim, Kasat Narkoba, and Kasat Lantas positions across Medan and other regions in North Sumatra have been filled with new faces. Here are the details:

• Polrestabes Medan: Kompol Andika Temanta Purba, the current Ps. Kasat Lantas, will join the Regional Staff and Education Corps (RO SDM) of Polda Sumut as an Analyst following a Policeman Promotion Course.
• Kasat Lantas: AKBP I Made Parwita, currently serving at the Polres Sumut Secretariat, will take over the Kasat Lantas position from Kompol Purba.

Additionally, Kompol Jama Kita Purba, currently serving as Kasat Reskrim, will be joining the Regional Staff and Education Corps of Polda Sumut as a Deputy. Kompol Bayu Putra Samara, who previously held this position, will be attending the Senior Executive Seminar course in 2025.

AKBP Bayu Putro Wijayanto, currently serving as Kasat Binmas, will be stepping into Kompol Purba’s role as Kasat Reskrim. Meanwhile, Kompol Adrian Risky Lubis, the current Kasat Narkoba, will be joining the Regional Staff as an Analyst. His replacement will be AKBP Thommy Aruan, currently serving as Chief of General Administration at Polrestabes Medan.

Several other changes include transfers for AKBP Muhammad Alan Haikel, AKBP Hendryanto, AKP Dedi Mirza, AKP Zuhatta Mahadi, AKP Arlin Harahap, AKP M. Taufik Siregar, AKP Ikhwanuddin, AKP Hasiholan Naibaho, and AKP Desman Manalu. These officers will be taking on new roles within Polda Sumut and various police stations across Medan.

Constabulary positions at Polrestabes Medan and select police stations in Medan have also seen changes. Kompol Anria Rosa Piliang, Kompol Dedy Dharma, AKP Krisnat Indratno, Kompol Alexander Putra, and Kompol Yayang Rizki Pratama have all been reassigned to new roles within the force.
