Concerns about Shalabi’s health arose after fellow journalist Ibrahim Faik posted a message on Facebook wishing him a speedy recovery. “Captain Medhat, may God heal you and heal you again, you are a white-hearted man,” Faik wrote, sparking speculation about Shalabi’s well-being.
The source confirmed that Shalabi is experiencing vocal cord inflammation but is otherwise healthy and his condition is improving.
Shalabi himself addressed his health issues on a recent episode of his popular program, “O Evening Lights.” He revealed that he had been suffering from esophageal reflux, a common condition often caused by unhealthy habits like consuming fatty foods, eating late at night, and smoking.
