The Secret to Red Carpet Radiance: Leighton Meester and Adam Brody’s Emmy Prep Revealed
Los Angeles,CA – Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, one of hollywood’s most beloved couples, turned heads at the 2025 Emmy awards held at the Peacock Theatre on September 14th. While their coordinating Prada ensembles – Brody in a pale blue suit and Meester in a baby pink gown – certainly contributed to their striking appearance, the real magic happened behind the scenes.
Before stepping onto the red carpet, the actor, 45, and actress, 39, indulged in meticulous pre-show rituals, orchestrated by celebrity makeup artist Bethany McCarty and groomer Kim Verbeck. in an exclusive interview, McCarty and Verbeck revealed the secrets behind the couple’s radiant glow, emphasizing the importance of thoughtful skin preparation.
For Meester, McCarty focused on creating a fresh, dewy base. “With Leighton, we used the Bubble cleanser, layered serums, cream, and eye cream,” McCarty explained. She further emphasized the importance of lymphatic drainage, adding, “If we have time, I’ll do some light lymphatic drainage massage while applying cream to de-puff and wake up circulation. If not, I keep the application gentle but intentional.” The bubble cleanser, along with their serums, cream, and eye cream, were key to achieving that coveted red carpet glow.
Brody’s grooming routine, spearheaded by Verbeck, prioritized clean, moisturized skin. “I always like to start with the cleanest skin possible and then move into the most moisturized,” Verbeck shared. “After applying the Enhanse Super Moisture, I use a couple massage techniques to get rid of tension and add some lymphatic drainage.” Verbeck aims for a matte finish for Brody, using Enhanse Super Moisture and Mattifying Milk.
The results speak for themselves. As McCarty noted, “Good skin prep is everything. It keeps makeup seamless, fresh, and youthful without any heaviness or creasing. The better the skin looks, the less makeup you need.” Verbeck echoed this sentiment, explaining that the entire grooming process takes approximately 30-40 minutes.
Beyond the skincare, Meester’s overall look embraced a retro prom aesthetic. “Leighton’s ’60s inspired gown alongside Adam’s tux led us to a classic cat eye, rosy cheeks, a matte lip, a hint of shimmer to echo her dress, and a soft nod to Brigitte Bardot with her hair,” McCarty revealed.
The evening was notably special for Brody, who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Noah Roklov in Nobody Wants This. While he may not have taken home the award, his and Meester’s radiant presence
