Israeli-American businesswoman Miriam Adelson, who has invested nearly $100 million in supporting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, is now seeking to rally other wealthy donors to contribute to the campaign as the election draws near.
According to sources cited by The New York Times, Adelson aims to bolster Trump’s television presence in key swing states, including Wisconsin and Michigan, where Democratic challenger Kamala Harris is gaining ground.
Adelson has reportedly reached out to fellow billionaires to help bridge the funding gap and maintain competitiveness in these crucial states until Election Day on November 5.
Earlier in the campaign, Adelson allegedly offered to become Trump’s largest donor in exchange for favorable policies towards Israel, particularly regarding the West Bank.
As the widow of Jewish-American billionaire Sheldon Adelson, Miriam Adelson has significant influence and resources at her disposal. Her late husband was a major financier who played a key role in Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, supporting his bid in exchange for the relocation of the US embassy to Jerusalem.
