Firewalk Studios’ Lead Character Designer Reflects on “Concord” Game Closure

One of the reasons for the failure of “Concord” developed by Firewalk Studios is that many people think that the character design is too ugly, so it cannot attract players to join.

Firewalk Studio’s lead character designer John Weisniewski posted on his personal X that the Firewalk team is an indomitable warrior.

Weisniewski also mentioned that despite project delays, the team managed to launch the game, and he thanked all the players who played “Concord Star Attack” for their positive energy and constructive feedback.

Firewalk is full of strong fighters. Multiple acquisitions, an engine upgrade (UE 4 > 5), a global pandemic, project delays… what we have shipped is legendary. None of us know what’s next but I know this team is capable of wild energy when faced with a challenge.

Another Firewalk design director, Josh Hamrick, also shared his thoughts on the game’s closure, thanking all the players for their support and sharing that he joined Firewalk in the spring of 2019 when the team consisted of less than 10 developers.

I started Firewalk in the spring of 2019. We were less than a dozen devs working shoulder to shoulder in a friend’s attic.
