Universal Pictures has released a first look at Focker In-Law, the fourth installment of the Meet the Parents film franchise. The new footage features Ariana Grande participating in a lie detector test, a nod to the high-tension interrogations that defined the original series.

The film is scheduled for release on November 25, 2026, coinciding with the Thanksgiving holiday. This release date marks the 25th anniversary of the debut of the first film in the series.

Cast and Plot Details

The production sees the return of the franchise’s core cast members. Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller will reprise their lead roles, joined by Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo.

Ariana Grande joins the cast in an undisclosed role. Grande recently confirmed on Instagram that she has wrapped filming for the project, expressing her affection for the cast and the Fockers and Byrnes families.

The narrative of Focker In-Law is expected to shift focus to the next generation. The plot will revolve around Henry, the son of Greg and Pamela, as he introduces his fiancée to his parents.

Production and Creative Team

John Hamburg, who wrote the screenplays for the first three films in the series, has returned to write the script for this installment. Hamburg is serving as the director for the film.

Jay Roach is producing the project for Universal Pictures.

Franchise Legacy

The Meet the Parents series began as a box office success with the original film, which earned $330 million worldwide. The series centers on the awkward and often adversarial relationship between Greg Focker and his father-in-law.

The original movie was followed by two sequels: Meet the Fockers in 2004, which introduced Greg’s own parents played by Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand, and Little Fockers in 2010.

The upcoming film Focker In-Law continues the long-running comedy series by exploring the familial dynamics of the Focker and Byrnes households 25 years after the franchise’s inception.
