Polo recalled De niro’s advice on comedy: “It’s the same thing, It’s the honestly in which you say the line. You’re not trying to be funny. You say it and really mean it.”
“Meet the Parents” spawned two sequels: “Meet the Fockers” (2004) and “Little Fockers” (2010). Now, a fourth movie is in development, with Ariana Grande joining the cast. Stiller said the new film will explore the dynamic of him being the age De Niro was in the original.
“It’s so much fun to hear laughter in a theater with comedy that’s 25 years old. It still works.”
De Niro confirmed he has read the script for the new installment and is enthusiastic about it. He said he has been advocating for another sequel for years.
