After being placed under nighttime house arrest and national arraignment, the accused left the Concepción Guarantee Court and gave his version of events on Saturday, January 17.
“That day ther was a baptism for the bosses.I was cooking and my partner was invited to earn some extra money working as a waitress at the bosses’ place,and I stayed to cook; I made chicken and rice in sauce. There were two pieces of wood and I added a third,” he recounted.
He continued with his tasks untill he heard a loud noise: “I realize the fire had already started and I run to tell the bosses that my house was burning down. At first, they didn’t beleive me.“
