Statement From Meghan Markle Regarding the Allegations
Meghan issued a public statement through the Press Association following reports about the accusations against her father, Thomas Markle Snr. The allegations surfaced after her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jnr, alleged that he had found a stash of images belonging to her father at his former home in the Philippines, the Sun reported.

Meghan stated that in 2018, a letter detailing troubling allegations against her father was sent to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection. She noted that police subsequently shared that correspondence with her and provided assurances that these were being investigated.
I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children, was for one reason: to protect them.

Denial From Thomas Markle Snr and Investigation Status
In a separate interview with the Daily Mail, Thomas Markle Snr strongly denied possessing child sex images, characterizing the accusations as “sick lies”. British law enforcement previously informed Meghan that the claims regarding her father—which originated from a 2018 dispatch to Scotland Yard and were later relayed to her by officers—were under review.
The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for comment. Meghan conveyed that even though the full extent of the discoveries surpasses imaginable horrors, she genuinely hopes for complete justice while maintaining that safeguarding and protecting vulnerable youth comes first.
Although the breadth of what has now been uncovered is more sickening than one could ever imagine, my sincerest hope is that justice will be fully served and that the priority remains the safety and protection of innocent children.
