Strategic Acquisition in South Sumatra
PT Harta Djaya Karya Tbk (MEJA) has entered into a conditional agreement to acquire a 45% controlling stake in PT Trimata Coal Perkasa, a coal mining company operating in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The agreement was signed between the controlling shareholders of both companies, according to a company disclosure.
MEJA Director Noprian Fadli confirmed the planned acquisition, stating the total value is IDR 1.6 trillion and will be paid in stages.
Trimata Coal Perkasa: Reserves and Production Capacity
PT Trimata Coal Perkasa holds a substantial concession area of approximately 11,640 hectares in south Sumatra. An autonomous report by Faan Grobelaar & Associates, based on drilling exploration data and coal seam modeling, estimates mineable coal resources of around 693.7 million tons. The vast majority of these resources-nearly all-have a gross Caloric Value exceeding 5000.
The company’s Work Plan and Cost Budget (RKAB) indicates a coal production permit for the period 2024-2026, authorizing the extraction of 2,600,000 tons of coal.
