Mekong Mayhem: Nong Khai Submerged as Floodwaters Rage On to Bueng Kan and Mukdahan
Flood Situation in Mueang District, Nong Khai Province
Today, at 7:15, the Mekong River overflowed and flooded Nong Khai, specifically in the Prajaksilpakom Road area along the entire line. In some places, the flood was more than 1 meter high. The mass of water continued to flow in Bueng Kan and Mukdahan respectively.
Volunteer rescuers used flat-bottomed boats to transport people who wanted to leave the area as the water level continues to rise. Nong Khai municipality reported that the water level in the Mekong River in Nong Khai province at 7:00 am was 13.81 meters.

The Mekong River itinerary includes Chiang Saen district, which drains into Chiang Khong district, Chiang Rai province, before flowing into the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and returning to Thailand, passing through the northeastern region, including Chiang Khan district, Loei province, followed by Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, and Ubon Ratchathani.
