Man Shot in Gladstone Park Home Ambush, Police Seek Public’s Help

GLADSTONE PARK, VIC – A terrifying home invasion in Gladstone Park has left one man in hospital and police urgently seeking public assistance to apprehend five armed offenders. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, saw a man shot multiple times and his family subjected to a violent ordeal.

Brutal Attack and Serious Injuries

According to Detective Inspector Adam Tilley of the Armed Crime Squad, the victim sustained “multiple strikes” to his upper body, lower body, and head region, in addition to being shot in the arm. The severity of his injuries is significant, and a family friend revealed to 9News that the man had recently undergone open-heart surgery, adding a layer of extreme vulnerability to the attack.

The home invasion was especially alarming due to the number of offenders and the weapons they carried. Tilley expressed grave concern,stating,”To be awakened by five offenders,especially with them being armed with firearms,knives,and a hammer,is extremely alarming to us,and that’s why we’re eagerly seeking the public’s assistance.”

Targeted Ambush, Not Random Violence

In a crucial detail, police have confirmed that the two victims present during the assault were innocent bystanders. The intended target of the ambush was, actually, their daughter’s boyfriend. Man of Interest Known to Police

The man who was named by the offenders during the assault is known to police.however, he has not made contact with authorities since the incident. Detective Inspector Tilley conveyed the police’s concern for his safety, stating, “We have been making enquiries to identify his current location, we obviously have concerns for his safety.We’d obviously like to speak to him in person and convey our concerns to him.”

The five offenders remain at large, and police are making a strong appeal to the public for any information that could assist in their capture. “If anyone has information, please come forward to either contact your local police station or Crime Stoppers,” urged Tilley.
