Former reality television star Melissa Rycroft has pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated, securing a deal that spares her from serving jail time according to court documents cited by Us Weekly and reported by TMZ and Mandatory.

Probation Terms and Sentencing Details

A judge signed off on the plea agreement on August 10, 2026, according to court documents outlined by Mandatory. Instead of facing a potential 280-day jail sentence, the 43-year-old former Dancing with the Stars champion was sentenced to 20 months of probation.

As part of the court-supervised agreement, Rycroft must pay a $2,000 fine and complete 36 hours of community service within 120 days. The terms of her probation also require her to finish a designated DWI education program and utilize a camera-equipped ignition interlock device in her vehicle.

Background on the 2025 Arrest in Texas

The legal proceedings stem from an arrest in 2025 in Texas, where court records show Rycroft was initially charged with a Class A misdemeanor. According to reports cited by Mandatory, her blood alcohol concentration at the time was measured at .26 percent, which is more than three times higher than the legal limit permitted in the state for operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration of 0.15 or higher.

Additional details from TV Insider indicate that the incident involved a single-vehicle crash on September 23 in Southlake, Texas. According to a press release issued by the Southlake Police Department, officers responded to the scene and located a black Cadillac Escalade that had struck a tree.

Authorities noted that no other vehicles were involved in the collision and no injuries were reported. Officers examined Rycroft at the scene, where she underwent a Standardized Field Sobriety Test prior to her arrest and subsequent transport to the Keller jail. She was released approximately eight hours later after posting a $1,000 bond and agreeing to appear in court.
