Fox News Channel maintained its dominance in cable news on Memorial Day, leading in both total viewers and the key 25-54 demographic. Despite a schedule filled with re-airs, “The Five” emerged as the most-watched program of the evening.
MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” saw a boost after moving to 6 p.m. ET. The show became MSNBC’s top program in total viewers.
CNN’s “CNN news Central” at 9 a.m. ET attracted 465,000 total viewers, making it the network’s most-watched show of the day.
In the 25-54 demographic for total day viewership, Fox News Channel (FNC) averaged 153,000 viewers, CNN 41,000, and MSNBC 53,000. During prime time, FNC averaged 204,000, CNN 44,000, and MSNBC 53,000.
For total viewers, FNC averaged 1.357 million for the total day and 1.838 million during prime time. CNN averaged 261,000 and 229,000, respectively, while MSNBC drew 432,000 and 539,000.
