A monday morning fire at a Menifee⁣ tire shop is under investigation after displacing five residents and causing significant damage. The ‍blaze, reported around 2 ⁤a.m., drew a large ​response⁢ from CalFire after a call‍ came in about⁣ a car fire near Highway 74 and 2nd Street. The⁢ incident highlights⁢ the importance of fire⁣ safety and⁤ community support in times of crisis.

Fueled by a large quantity of tires, the flames quickly escalated, becoming visible for miles, according​ to area residents. Miguel Villavicencio, a local resident, described the ⁢intensity: “You could see the⁤ flames. They were 20 feet high. It was bad.” The rapid spread of the fire underscores the potential dangers associated‌ with‍ tire ‌storage and the need for stringent safety measures.

The fire‌ threatened Villavicencio’s family restaurant, causing ‌water and smoke damage. Fire officials deployed 13 fire engines and more than 60 firefighters to contain the tire shop fire. Battalion Chief Mike Ballinger of ⁣CalFire noted the challenges: “The fire was substantial for the ⁤small area. It was packed‍ tight.
