Metallica Announces Sphere Residency: Dates, No-Repeat Shows & 2024 Tour

Metallica Announces Sphere Residency: Dates, No-Repeat Shows & 2024 Tour

February 25, 2026 Marcus Rodriguez - Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Metallica is bringing its high-octane live show to Las Vegas this fall with a new residency, October 1st through October 31st, at the Sphere. The eight-show run, dubbed “Life Burns Faster,” promises a unique concert experience leveraging the venue’s cutting-edge immersive technology.

The residency will continue a format the band pioneered on its ongoing M72 World Tour: “No Repeat Weekends.” This means that for each pair of shows – Thursday and Saturday – Metallica will not play the same song twice, offering fans a compelling incentive to attend multiple performances. Dates include October 1st and October 3rd, October 15th and October 17th, October 22nd and October 24th, and October 29th and October 31st.

The Sphere, which opened in 2023 with a residency by U2, is designed to deliver a fully immersive audio-visual experience. Drummer Lars Ulrich expressed his excitement about the venue, stating, “About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!’” He added, “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level!”

Metallica’s commitment to delivering a fresh experience for its dedicated fanbase is a hallmark of the band’s touring strategy. The “No Repeat Weekends” concept, initially launched with the M72 tour, demonstrates a willingness to go above and beyond the standard concert format. This approach acknowledges the depth of the band’s catalog and caters to fans who actively seek out a diverse setlist across multiple shows.

Tickets go on sale March 6th at 10 AM PT, with several presales preceding the general on-sale date. A Fan Club presale begins March 2nd, and a Ticketmaster Artist Presale opens March 3rd. The band is also offering a premium ticket package, rebranded as the “Full House” Ticket (previously known as the “I Disappear” Ticket), which guarantees access to all Metallica shows at the Sphere in 2026.

Beyond standard tickets, Metallica is offering Travel Packages and Enhanced Experiences. VIP options include Meet & Greet access, onstage photo opportunities, exclusive access to the “Black Box Experience,” and prime positioning within the venue, including the coveted “Snake Pit.” Presales for Travel Packages begin February 27th at 7 AM PT for Legacy Members and 9 AM PT for Fifth Members, with the general on-sale following at 11 AM PT. Presales for Enhanced Experience Tickets and the Full House Ticket are included in the Fan Club Presale on March 2nd.

The Las Vegas residency arrives as Metallica continues its extensive M72 World Tour, which has already spanned North America, Europe, and the Middle East. The band has a robust schedule of European dates planned for May 2026, including stops in Frankfurt, Glasgow, Zürich, and more. This demonstrates the band’s continued commitment to live performance and its ability to balance large-scale tours with more focused residency engagements.

The Sphere residency represents a significant opportunity for Metallica to push the boundaries of live concert production. The venue’s immersive technologies – including a high-resolution LED display, pinpoint audio clarity, and multi-sensory 4D effects – promise to elevate the band’s performance to a new level, offering fans an experience that goes beyond a traditional concert. It also underscores Las Vegas’s growing status as a premier destination for large-scale musical residencies, attracting major artists and offering fans unique entertainment options.
