Metallica Announces Las Vegas Residency at Sphere, ‘Life Burns Faster’

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Metallica is bringing its high-octane live show to the Sphere in Las Vegas this fall with a new residency titled “Life Burns Faster.” The band announced the eight-show engagement on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

The residency will feature a unique concert format, continuing the band’s “No Repeat Weekend” tradition. According to a press release, no songs will be repeated on Thursday and Saturday performances throughout the run. This promises a distinct experience for fans attending multiple shows.

Tickets go on sale March 6 at 1 p.m. ET, with registration currently open at metallica.lnk.to/MetallicaSphere. Presales will be available beginning March 2 for Fan Club members and March 3 for those who sign up for the Ticketmaster Artist Presale.

The initial dates for “Life Burns Faster” are October 1, October 3, October 15, October 17, October 22, October 24, October 29, and October 31.

The Sphere, which opened in 2023, has quickly become a premier venue for large-scale musical performances. U2 completed a successful 40-date residency at the venue in 2023 and 2024, grossing $244.5 million, demonstrating the potential for artists to connect with fans in a new and immersive way.

Metallica’s drummer and co-founder, Lars Ulrich, expressed his excitement about the residency, stating, “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way [expletive] psyched to go next level!”

The band plans to perform a mix of their classic hits and surprises from their extensive catalog. Metallica has sold more than 163 million albums worldwide and is known for songs like “Enter Sandman,” “Master of Puppets,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Fade to Black.”

In addition to standard tickets, Metallica is offering Travel Packages and Enhanced Experiences, including VIP access, onstage photo opportunities, and exclusive access to the Black Box Experience. Presales for Travel Packages begin February 27 for Legacy and Fifth Members, with the general on-sale following at 11 a.m. PT. Presales for Enhanced Experience Tickets and the “Full House” Ticket – formerly known as the “I Disappear” Ticket – are included in the Fan Club Presale on March 2.

The “Full House” Ticket provides access to every Metallica show at the Sphere in 2026, catering to the most dedicated fans. More information on premium tickets can be found at wearesuper.co/metallica.

This residency marks a significant moment for both Metallica and the Sphere, solidifying Las Vegas’s position as a major destination for live music experiences. The band hinted at a Sphere residency for months, and Ulrich revealed plans have been in development for years, inspired by U2’s groundbreaking performance at the venue in 2023.
