Iconic Metal Band Plays Local Favorite “La Chona” to Delight of Mexican Fans
San Luis Potosí, September 20 – Metallica, the legendary American metal band, kicked off their four-concert series in Mexico City with a bang, treating fans to a unique rendition of the popular Mexican song “La Chona” by the Tijuana Toucans.
Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo’s impromptu performance of the song’s chords sent the crowd into a frenzy, setting the tone for an unforgettable night of music.
Metallica’s first show in Mexico City featured a mix of classic and recent hits, including “Enter Sandman,” “Master of Puppets,” “The Unforgiven,” and “Nothing Else Matters,” as well as songs from their latest album, 72 Seasons.

Concert Details
Metallica will perform on September 20, 21, 27, and 29 at the Seguros GNP Stadium, with doors opening at 4:00 pm and the show starting at 8:00 pm.
Opening act Mammoth WVH will take the stage at 6:30 pm to warm up the crowd.
