Adela Noriega Returns to Televisa After Nearly Two Decades
After almost two decades away from the screen, actress Adela Noriega will return to Televisa in the upcoming telenovela El Secreto de Selena, scheduled to begin filming in February 2026. This marks her first role since Fuego en la sangre,wich aired in 2008,alongside Eduardo Yáñez.
Noriega’s extended absence from public life fueled numerous rumors. Reports circulated suggesting she suffered from an incurable illness,had pursued a career in real estate in the united States,or had even passed away. However, colleagues who worked with her have indicated her decision was a personal one.
Televisa officially announced noriega’s participation on January 29, 2026, via a press release and social media posts. El Secreto de Selena is a remake of the 1992 Argentine telenovela Celeste. Production will take place in Mexico City.
The cast also includes Gabriel Soto, Alejandra Barros, and Mario Carrillo. The telenovela is being produced by José Bastida.
Noriega rose to fame in the 1990s with leading roles in telenovelas such as María la del Barrio (1995) and El Privilegio de Amar (1998).
