Incidents Reported in Metro Line B and Various Neighborhoods

Mexico City, September 19 – Heavy rain and strong winds hit Mexico City, causing trees to fall in different parts of the capital. Two trees fell onto the tracks at the Metro Line B station, causing service to be temporarily suspended.

The incident occurred between the Champion and Nezahualcóyotl stations, where personnel from the Metro System and the Fire Department worked together to remove the trees and restore service.

Other Incidents Reported in the City

In the Office of Mayor Gustavo A. Madero, a tree fell on Eduardo Molina Avenue, in the neighborhood of Granjas Modernas, knocking down public lighting wires and blocking the circulation of three lanes of the road.

Another incident occurred on Oriente 95 Street, in the neighborhood of Nueva Tenochtitlán, where a tree knocked down a piece of an elementary school’s perimeter fence, which rested on a vehicle that was parked in the area.

Incidents in Other Neighborhoods

In the Villa de Aragón neighborhood, a tree fell on the home of an elderly person, who was left locked up alone. Civil Defense personnel later removed the tree.

In the Office of the Mayor of Azcapotzalco, a tree fell on 342 Tochtli Street, in the neighborhood of Santa Lucía, blocking road traffic and bringing down low voltage wires.
