Mexico Influenza Deaths: H1N1 Cases Surge

Influenza Claims Seven Lives in Mexico

Mexico’s Secretariat of Health reported ‍at least seven deaths from‌ influenza, specifically the A H1N1 strain, between October⁢ 2025 adn early January 2026. Authorities also confirmed 2,313 cases of influenza during the‍ same period.

Nearly‍ 40% of ⁤the reported⁤ cases ​occurred in children and⁢ young adults. Specifically, individuals aged⁤ one to‍ 14 years represent ⁤25.2%​ of the infections, while those aged 25 ⁢to 34 ⁢years account for 13.6% of the cases.

A H1N1 Strain Dominates⁣ Cases

The ⁤A H1N1 influenza strain is ​the most frequently recorded type in Mexico. the Secretariat of Health has⁣ not ​yet released a full breakdown of other influenza strains detected during this period.
