Gas Pipe Explosion Injures 57 in Mexico City

A gas pipe explosion on the Concordia bridge and Ignacio Zaragoza road in the Iztapalapa mayorS office has injured 57 people, 19 seriously, according to Mexico City Head of Government Clara Brugada. The incident occurred at 2:20 p.m. when the pipe suffered a rollover, causing an explosion and a shockwave that affected 18 vehicles.

Authorities have closed traffic in both directions of the Mexico-Puebla highway between Axis 6 South and the Concordia bridge, as well as the Iztapalapa Ermita road from Las Torres Avenue.
