MGK Taps Bob Dylan for ‘Lost Americana’ Album Trailer
Updated June 10, 2025
Machine Gun Kelly, known as MGK, is gearing up to release his seventh studio album, “Lost Americana,” on Aug.8. The rapper-turned-rocker appears to have enlisted Bob Dylan to narrate the album’s trailer, released tuesday.
The trailer features a voice resembling Dylan describing “Lost Americana” as ”a personal excavation of the American dream.” The narration accompanies visuals of MGK riding motorcycles, exploring landscapes, and walking the Las Vegas strip.
The Dylan-esque voice continues,”It’s a sonic map of forgotten places,a tribute to the spirit of reinvention and a quest to reclaim the essence of American freedom…Where the past is reimagined, and the future is forged on your own terms.”
MGK hinted at Dylan’s involvement by captioning the video “narrated by…” without explicitly naming him. He further fueled speculation by sharing a photo of dylan on Instagram.
the album follows MGK’s 2022 album,”Mainstream Sellout,” which topped the Billboard 200 chart. He has already released singles “Your Name Forever” and “Cliche,” as well as collaborations with Jelly Roll, “Lonely Road” and “Time of Day.”
This wouldn’t be the first time the two artists have crossed paths. In February, Dylan posted a 2016 video of MGK rapping in a Florida music store on Instagram, leaving fans puzzled.
MGK responded to Dylan’s post at the time, commenting, “you having a phone is so rad.”
What’s next
Fans await official confirmation of Dylan’s involvement as the Aug. 8 release date for “Lost Americana” approaches.
