Seven.” The acclaimed actress admitted she had no expectation of being nominated, saying the thought never even
crossed her mind.
Upon receiving the news, Channing said her initial reaction was a profound sense of honor.”After I hung up the
phone…it began to occur to me that I was a Tony-nominated actor, among the best of the best, in the community
I so deeply respect,” Channing stated. Her immediate next thought was to share the news with someone,
specifically her mother, the late actress Maureen O’Sullivan. Overcome with emotion, Channing said she missed
her mother deeply, knowing how proud she would have been.
Channing also reflected on her experience working on ”Morning’s at Seven,” particularly with Patti LuPone. She
praised the collaborative journey they shared in developing their characters and expressed admiration for
