Cavaliers Dominate Heat, Warriors take Series Lead

CLEVELAND (AP) ​— The Cleveland Cavaliers delivered a decisive ​blow⁢ Saturday, ‍defeating the ‌Miami Heat 124-87 and​ taking a commanding 3-0 lead in their Western Conference ‌first-round ⁤series.

The 37-point margin marks Miami’s worst deficit in playoff history, surpassing a 36-point​ differential in Game 3 of the 2013 NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. While the Heat went ⁤on to win the championship that year, ‌they​ now face elimination.

Cavaliers’ Strong Performance

Jarrett Allen led the Cavaliers with 22 points,‌ followed by D’Andre Hunter ⁤with⁣ 21. Evan Mobley contributed 19 points, and Max ‌strus added 18. Ty Jerome and⁢ Donovan ⁣Mitchell each‌ chipped in with 12 points for Cleveland.

Bam Adebayo scored 22 points for Miami, while Davion Mitchell added 16.

Despite a promising start for the Heat, the Cavaliers responded with a‍ dominant 33-5 run, fueled by five three-pointers that established a ⁣notable lead. Cleveland held‌ a⁢ 62-42 advantage at halftime. Although the Cavaliers ‍struggled with their shooting at the ​start of the ⁢second half, miami failed to capitalize, scoring only four points during that ⁣stretch.

This is the 11th ⁢time⁤ the Cavaliers have held a 3-0 lead ⁤in a‍ best-of-seven ‌series. The previous ten instances, all during ⁣LeBron⁢ James’ tenure in Cleveland, resulted in ‍series sweeps. They will⁤ look to ⁣repeat that success on Monday.

Warriors Edge ⁤Rockets, Take Series Lead

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Stephen⁣ Curry scored 36 ‌points as the Golden State warriors defeated the​ Houston Rockets‍ 104-93, taking a 2-1⁣ lead ​in their series.

Curry extended ‌the ⁢Warriors’ lead to 95-86 with a‌ three-pointer late in the fourth quarter.

In addition to‌ his scoring, Curry also ‍contributed nine assists, one steal, and two blocks.

Buddy ​hield⁢ added 17⁣ points for the Warriors, while Gary payton II scored 16.

Fred VanVleet led the‍ Rockets‌ with 17 points, followed by‌ Alperen Sengun with 15.
