micah Parsons to attend minicamp amid Cowboys contract talks
Despite ongoing contract negotiations, Micah Parsons has announced he will attend the Dallas Cowboys’ mandatory minicamp, scheduled for June 10-12. The star pass rusher addressed the situation via social media, emphasizing his commitment to his teammates and preparation for the upcoming season.
Parsons is entering the fifth year of his rookie contract, set to earn just over $24 million in 2025.Team owner Jerry Jones previously indicated that a long-term agreement with Parsons was nearing completion, potentially positioning him as the highest-paid defender in the NFL. Currently, Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns holds that distinction with a four-year, $160 million extension.
The Cowboys’ coaching staff, including brian Schottenheimer, anticipates Parsons’ participation in the minicamp. Parsons’ presence is viewed as a positive sign, especially given the earlier uncertainty surrounding his attendance at OTAs amid the contract dispute.
In his first four seasons, Parsons has earned four pro Bowl selections and three All-Pro honors, including two first-team nods. He has consistently ranked among the top contenders for the Defensive Player of the Year award.
“I will be there! I haven’t missed a mini camp in 4 years! Even though the contract is not done, I have teammates and a playbook! I’m preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp! But it’s in the owner’s hands. I’m ready to win a Super Bowl!”
