The newly unveiled regional guide spans Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico, placing state dining spots under the evaluation of anonymous inspectors using universal criteria that include ingredient quality, culinary technique, and flavor consistency. According to the Arizona Office of Tourism, the inclusion connects local hospitality directly to a global audience of culinary travelers.
Bib Gourmand and Selected Restaurants Across Arizona
Arizona dominated the competitive Bib Gourmand category, capturing seven of the 18 total designations awarded across the entire four-state region for high-quality, approachable dining, according to state tourism data. The recognized establishments span multiple Valley cities.
The state’s seven Bib Gourmand selections include FnB in Scottsdale, Huarachis Taqueria in Phoenix, kid sister in Phoenix, Little Miss BBQ in Phoenix, Lom Wong in Phoenix, Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix, and Valentine in Phoenix.
An additional 12 establishments earned Michelin Guide Recommended status, meeting strict global standards for culinary mastery, according to Visit Arizona. Those locations include Atria in Flagstaff, Bacanora in Phoenix, Christopher’s at Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix, Fry Bread House in Phoenix, Glai Baan in Phoenix, Hush Public House in Scottsdale, INDIBAR in Paradise Valley, Latha in Phoenix, Pretty Penny in Phoenix, RESERVE in Scottsdale, ShinBay in Scottsdale, and Tratto in Phoenix. No Arizona restaurants received Michelin stars in the 2026 selection.
Special Awards and Individual Honors
Alongside restaurant selections, three Arizona culinary figures received special individual honors during the Las Vegas ceremony, according to the Arizona Office of Tourism.
René Andrade of Bacanora and Huarachis Taqueria in Phoenix received the Michelin Young Chef Award for fire-grilled Sonoran flavors and dynamic leadership shaping regional gastronomy. Charleen Badman of FnB in Scottsdale earned the Michelin Mindful Voices Award for pioneering local farm-to-table supply chains and community food advocacy. John Germain of RESERVE in Scottsdale secured the Michelin Sommelier Award for wine curation, pairing expertise, and tableside hospitality.
Industry Impact and Regional Growth
State and industry leaders emphasized that the debut guide validates the growth and evolution of the desert dining scene. Alix Skelpsa Ridgway, director of the Arizona Office of Tourism, stated that the recognition confirms what travelers and locals have experienced for years regarding the state’s culinary diversity.
