Taiwanese actress Ariel Chen (陳妍希) has opened up about her post-divorce life and romantic outlook for the first time, revealing in a mainland Chinese variety show that she no longer believes in forever, according to coverage by Yahoo News and Sanlih E-News.

The actress, who officially announced her divorce from Chinese actor Chen Xiao (陳曉) in February 2025 after nearly nine years of marriage, made the remarks during an appearance on the reality program My Little Daughter 2026 (我家那閨女2026), as reported by Sanlih E-News. Now based in Beijing, Chen shared rare details about her daily parenting routine and reflected on the dissolution of her marriage.

Reflecting on Second-Child Hopes and Family Life

During the program, fellow celebrity couple Nini Ouyang (歐陽妮妮) and Austin Lin (張書豪) visited Chen’s home with their child, steering the conversation toward parenting and the prospect of having a second child, according to Sanlih E-News. Chen revealed that she had saved many of the clothes worn by her son, nicknamed “Little Star” (星星), hoping to eventually pass them down to a second child.

“Now there should not be much chance,” Chen said in the broadcast, acknowledging how circumstances have shifted following her split from Chen Xiao, as cited by Sanlih E-News.

When Ouyang expressed a desire to have a daughter, Chen expressed deep empathy, noting that she had also previously wanted a daughter. Having grown up confiding in her own sister, Chen pointed out that sibling companionship is valuable and noted she had hoped for a close age gap between children if she expanded her family, according to Sanlih E-News.

A Shift in Romantic Outlook and Future Focus

Looking back on her marriage, Chen candidly admitted that regrets remain, but emphasized that she must keep moving forward, as reported by Sanlih E-News. She stated that her current priorities lie entirely in her career and raising her son, adding that she has no plans to remarry at this stage.

Addressing her current view on romance, Chen offered a frank assessment of her mindset post-divorce.
