The Michigan Wolverines have extended an offer to Charles Woodson Jr., a safety prospect in the 2027 class. The offer marks the beginning of Michigan’s pursuit of the son of Charles Woodson, the Wolverines’ 1997 Heisman Trophy winner and Pro Football Hall of Famer.
Woodson Jr., a 5-foot-11, 160-pound defensive back from Orlando, Florida, announced the offer from Michigan via social media. He is entering his junior year at Lake Nona High School.
While Charles Woodson Jr. is not yet rated in ESPN’s rankings for the 2027 class, he has garnered significant attention from major programs. In addition to Michigan, his offers include Florida State, Iowa State, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Syracuse, and Texas A&M.
The younger Woodson has strong family ties to the Wolverines.His father, Charles Woodson, was a standout player for Michigan from 1995 to 1997.

During his time in Ann Arbor, the elder Woodson earned All-Big Ten honors three times and was a two-time All-American. His junior season culminated in leading Michigan to a national title and becoming the first defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy.
Charles woodson was drafted fourth overall in the 1998 NFL draft and played 18 seasons with the Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers. A nine-time Pro Bowl selection and the 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.
Charles Woodson Jr. saw varsity action as a freshman in 2023. As a sophomore, he recorded 53 tackles, two pass breakups, and one interception.He has also attended camps at Michigan for the past two summers.
