Mickey Arthur says his time as Derbyshire coach has been “fantastic,” particularly the demands made of him after years coaching national sides. His last club-level role outside T20 franchises was with Western Australia in 2011.
Arthur noted the differences between international and domestic coaching. He said he has had to self-reflect and change his approach to handling the squad and various situations.
Despite Derbyshire’s recent struggles, Arthur has taken on the role of director of cricket at the Hundred side Northern Superchargers this season. Last season, club chief executive Ryan Duckett backed arthur amid the team’s difficulties.
When questioned about his future with Derbyshire, Arthur affirmed his commitment. he stated he will remain until the club decides or else, driven by a passion for taking the “underdog to the top.”
