Micron 2600 SSD Targets Handhelds and Laptops
Micron has announced it’s 2600 SSD,a solid-state drive aimed at modern laptops and handheld gaming devices. The Micron 2600 SSD is available to OEMs in 2230, 2242, and 2280 form factors, ensuring compatibility across desktops, laptops, and consoles like the steam deck and lenovo Legion Go.
The Micron 2600 SSD comes in 512GB,1TB,and 2TB storage options. there are currently no mentions of a 4TB or 8TB model.
Performance metrics for the Micron 2600 SSD include sequential read speeds up to 7,200 MB/s and write speeds up to 6,500 MB/s. Random read and write speeds can hit 1,000,000 IOPS and 1,100,000 IOPS, respectively, but these figures are specific to the 2TB model. Lower-capacity models offer slightly reduced performance. Read and write latencies remain consistent across all capacities.
Endurance for the micron 2600 SSD starts at 200TBW for the 512GB version, scaling to 400TBW for the 1TB and 700TBW for the 2TB versions.This endurance aligns with typical QLC ssds.
