If you stay in Guangzhou during the holidays, you can still come here to play

Information Times (Reporter Ye Jiayin) During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, major scenic spots in Guangzhou launched a series of Mid-Autumn Festival themed activities to accompany citizens and tourists to celebrate the festival.

Check in at the garden party to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival

Yesterday was the first day of the holiday, and the Guangzhou Tower scenic area was crowded with people, and many family tourists came here to check in and play. In the afternoon of the same day, the “Intangible Cultural Heritage Cantonese Golden Dragon Dance Parade” attracted many citizens and tourists to watch.

The “Mid-Autumn Festival Ancient Charm Garden Party” is being held in the circular passage on the first floor of Guangzhou Tower. In the lantern display and interactive area, visitors can freely choose riddles to challenge, and they can get exquisite small gifts if they guess them correctly. The intangible cultural heritage creative market has four major intangible cultural heritage performances, including ancient lacquer fans, flower-wrapped hairpins, ancient style trendy toys and ancient style lanterns. Citizens and tourists can experience them on site and feel the beauty of Lingnan intangible cultural heritage.

During the holiday, Lingnan Impression Garden held a Mid-Autumn Festival Garden Party, which featured theme concerts, a Hanfu lantern parade, a limited-time return of the intangible cultural heritage fire pot and other exciting activities.

As the game “Black Myth: Wukong” swept the world, the filming location of the game, the Jade Emperor Temple in Jincheng, Shanxi, also attracted much attention. From September 15 to 17, the “Twenty-Eight Constellations of the Jade Emperor Temple in Jincheng, Shanxi, the first exhibition in the Greater Bay Area” was held in the atrium on the 5th floor of Zhengjia Plaza.

In Guangzhou Sunac Land, you can see the “intangible cultural heritage box lights” with hundreds of years of history. The box lights are hung high up and start burning from the bottom layer. After one layer is burned, it falls off and the next layer starts to burn until the top. When the box flowers are lit, not only the outer contour of the lamp can be seen, but even the inside of the lamp is lit, which is really a scene of fireworks and colorful lights.

Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with animals

In scenic spots in Guangzhou, animals have also started celebrating the festival. Yesterday, reporters saw many families with three generations traveling together in scenic spots.

At Zhengjia Polar Ocean World, tourists of all ages made “jelly” mooncakes for beluga whales and celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with them. It is said that the “jelly” mooncakes contain trace elements that can help animals replenish water. The keepers also added capelin to the beluga whales, focusing on balanced nutrition and healthy diet.

At the Zhengjia Rainforest Ecological Botanical Garden, the capybara “Tuntun” also ate the Mid-Autumn Festival mooncakes made for it by fans. In addition, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Zhengjia Polar Ocean World launched a limited mermaid performance “Remembering Liang Zhu”, which kicked off in the form of a Chinese style underwater performance. The Chinese style performance “Red Dress Flying Snow” was also beautifully performed at Zhengjia Penguin Ice and Snow World.

At the same time, at Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park, visitors will see the second-generation giant panda “Meizhu” and her cute mother and daughter reuniting for the first Mid-Autumn Festival, as well as four top giant pandas with new enrichment competing to “chase the moon”, more than 20,000 wild animals in the park celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival in various ways, and there will be fun interactions such as guessing lantern riddles. The Guangzhou Oceanarium will launch the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival theme event during the three-day holiday, including the Internet celebrity Moon Rabbit check-in point, the Pig Round Mid-Autumn Festival Garden Party, the Chang’e Chasing the Moon Conference, and the new mermaid performances, allowing everyone to travel the ocean and enjoy the Mid-Autumn Moon together.

Come to Cultural Park

Enjoy the Mid-Autumn Lanterns

Information Times (Reporter Wang Zhixun, Correspondent Li Xuan) The annual Cultural Park Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival is here as scheduled. Last night, the Cultural Park 2024 Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival was officially lit.

This year’s lantern festival is themed “Vibrant Bay Area, New Guangzhou”. The exhibition time is September 15-17 and October 1-7 (a total of 10 days). A total of 32 large and medium-sized lantern groups and nearly 2,000 atmosphere lights will be exhibited for free. During the lantern festival, there will also be a lantern making competition for primary and secondary school students in Liwan District, exhibitions of calligraphy and painting, bonsai, and strange stones, singing and dancing performances, as well as lantern riddles, folk art, and storytelling activities.

This year’s Lantern Festival layout is divided into two areas: traditional and modern. Among them, the “Ancient Charm Shining in the Bay Area” is mainly concentrated in the main entrance square and the central square, while the “Arts and New Charms” area is mainly concentrated in the southwest square.

The “Ancient Charm Shining in the Bay Area” area lantern group fully explores the historical and cultural heritage of lanterns and recreates the prosperous scene of tourists enjoying lanterns in ancient times. The two groups of lanterns “Ten Thousand Lanterns” and “Ten Miles of Lantern Street” on both sides of the main entrance passage are reproductions of the scenes in the ancient painting “Shangyuan Lantern Colors”. The “Xianque Embracing the Moon” in the main entrance square is based on the ancient “gate” as a reference, combined with Manchu windows, wok-ear walls and other Xiguan elements, to create a gatehouse entrance that resembles a heavenly palace.

This year is the Year of the Dragon, and dragon elements can be seen everywhere in this lantern festival. The largest lantern group of this lantern festival, “Double Dragons Playing with Pearls”, is arranged in the central square. The whole group of lanterns is nearly 40 meters long and 7 meters high. Two giant golden dragons step on auspicious clouds and rush towards the dazzling dragon balls, which is magnificent. The dragon balls are created by combining the “ivory carving” modeling of the intangible cultural heritage “three carvings, one color and one embroidery”. It is a double-layer sphere shape with a constantly rotating revolving lantern inside, dynamically presenting the wonderful effect of rolling dragon balls. In addition, the lantern groups such as “Fish Leaping Over the Dragon Gate”, “Dragon Flying and Phoenix Dancing”, “Happiness and Ruyi”, and “Harmony and Beauty” also create a festive atmosphere through dragon elements such as traditional dragons, cartoon dragons, dragon and lion dances.
