Mid-Race Mayhem: 14 Hours Down, 10 to Go at the 2024 FIM EWC Bol d’Or 24 Hours
2024 FIM EWC Rd.4 Bol d’Or: 14 Hours Elapsed
It has been 14 hours since the 2024 FIM EWC 24 Hours Rd4 Bol d’Or. The YOSHIMURA SERT MOTUL (Su, BS) Bridgestone’s #12 was running alone at the front dodging lap delays. He was the slowest of the top five, making his 16th pit stop at around 13 hours and 50 minutes.
The #333 HONDA VILTRAIS RACING (Ho, DL), which was in 2nd place, also made its 17th pit stop at around the same time, and 2nd place was taken over by the #37 BMW MOTORRADO WORLD ENDURANCE TEAM (BMW, DL ). 4 laps behind the #12 YOSHIMURA.
The #1 YART-YAMAHA (Ya, BS), the current leader of the championship standings who had problems in the first stint, recorded many times in the 1 minute 54 second range during this period and was running in 3rd place.
The BS #5F.CC TSR HONDA FRANCE (Ho, BS) car dropped significantly due to problems, but consistently recorded a time in the 1min 54sec range to climb to 11th and continue to chase.
It was a grueling race, with many retirements due to accidents or mechanical problems, leaving only 33 of the 45 cars remaining and all three Bridgestone cars able to continue racing.
