Mike Brown Emerges as Strong Candidate for Knicks ⁢Coaching Role

Mike brown, fresh off a Coach of the Year award, is a leading contender for the New York knicks ‍head coaching job. He⁣ is scheduled⁣ for a second interview, according to sources.

Brown, 55, earned unanimous NBA⁢ Coach of the Year ⁢honors after guiding the Sacramento kings to the playoffs in 2022-23, ending their 16-year drought. His tenure in ⁤Sacramento included a 107-88 record before his dismissal⁢ in december.The Knicks are looking for the right person⁢ to fill the coaching role.

The veteran coach previously held head coaching⁣ positions⁣ with the⁤ Cleveland Cavaliers‍ (twice) and ⁢the‍ Los Angeles Lakers. His career record stands⁣ at 455-304, with seven playoff appearances in nine full seasons. He also won Coach of the Year in‍ cleveland in 2008-09.

Brown interviewed for the Knicks job in 2020 before the team hired Tom Thibodeau. Now, he’s in the ⁢running to⁣ replace Thibodeau, who was fired after leading‍ New York to its first eastern Conference finals appearance in a quarter-century.
