Amazon to Stream mike Flanagan’s New “Carrie” Adaptation

Mike Flanagan, known for his Stephen King adaptations, is set to create an eight-episode ”Carrie” series for Amazon. This project revisits King’s 1974 novel, marking the first episodic television adaptation of the classic horror story. The series has received the green light from Amazon MGM Studios.
Vernon Sanders, head of Amazon MGM Studios, said the company is excited to bring this iconic story to its global audience with Flanagan at the helm. Production is slated to begin this summer.
The cast includes Summer H. Howell as Carrie White and Siena Agudong as Sue Snell. Matthew Lillard, who previously collaborated with Flanagan on “The Life of Chuck,” will play Principal Grayle. Samantha Sloyan, a Flanagan regular, will portray Carrie’s mother, Margaret White.
Other cast members include Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, Josie Totah as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, and Joel Oulette as Tommy.
Flanagan will executive produce the series alongside Trevor macy.
This new adaptation of “Carrie,” a reimagining of the classic Stephen King story, stands apart from previous screen versions, including brian de Palma’s 1976 film starring Sissy spacek, “The Rage: Carrie 2,” the 2002 TV movie with angela Bettis, and the 2013 film featuring Chloe Grace Moretz.
