Former Czech international forward Milan Baroš is currently embroiled in a contentious legal battle with his ex-wife, Tereza Barošová, involving substantial financial disputes and claims of psychological pressure. The conflict has escalated to the courts, with reports indicating that Barošová initiated execution proceedings against the former footballer shortly before Easter 2026.

The legal dispute follows a high-profile divorce that was finalized on August 25, 2025. The settlement is reported to be one of the most expensive in the history of the Czech Republic, involving the transfer of a significant portion of Baroš’s assets to his former spouse.

Details of the Divorce Settlement

According to reports from Expres.cz and Shorty-News, the financial arrangements finalized in August 2025 were extensive. The settlement included the transfer of several properties, including a villa and multiple apartments located in Prague.

In addition to real estate, Baroš relinquished a luxury Mercedes-Benz and provided a substantial lump sum of financial compensation. While some reports cite a figure of 10 million, other estimates suggest the lump sum was in the tens of millions of Czech korunas.

The agreement also established a monthly alimony payment of 150,000 CZK. This amount was divided equally, with 50,000 CZK designated for Tereza Barošová and 50,000 CZK for each of their two children, Patrick, aged 16, and Mattea, aged 14.

Alimony Dispute and Execution Proceedings

Despite the initial agreement, the relationship between the former couple has deteriorated. Karolina Besser Zelenková, the lawyer representing Barošová, stated on April 9, 2026, that Baroš subsequently sought to change the judgment that was less than a year old.

Mr. Baroš subsequently decided to file a purposeful proposal to change a judgment that was not even a year old, probably driven by an effort to achieve a reduction in alimony, which he stopped paying.

Karolina Besser Zelenková

Zelenková claimed that Baroš stopped fulfilling his payment obligations despite repeated warnings regarding the possibility of execution. This failure to pay led to the execution proceedings initiated shortly before Easter 2026.

The conflict has also extended to the nature of their communication. Zelenková noted that Baroš has been unable to communicate with the client in any way other than a rudely insulting manner over a long period. A court-ordered mediation was attempted to resolve these issues, but it reportedly yielded no results.

Custody and Recent Court Appearances

The legal battle has also focused on the care of their sons, Patrick and Mattea. Recent court proceedings have addressed the possibility of alternating care, with a proposal for each parent to have the children for one week at a time.

During a recent court appearance, Milan Baroš arrived alone. Tereza Barošová was accompanied by her new partner, Filip Neusser, the former head of the National Sports Agency.

The ongoing conflict has drawn significant public attention, with reports from Extra.cz describing the situation as a war between the two parties. These reports further allege that the intensity of the conflict has resulted in the public humiliation of their son by his mother.
