from Hannah Montana, the hit Disney Channel series that launched her career.
In a recent interview, Cyrus, 32, said that after the show’s conclusion in 2011, she faced restrictions on
performing music associated wiht the teen sitcom. This meant hits linked to her early identity were off-limits.
Cyrus explained the complexities of separating herself from the Hannah Montana persona while still acknowledging
its importance. “It was still sad knowing those songs have my voice, my face, and I wasn’t allowed to sing
them,” she said.
The turning point came in August 2024 when Cyrus was inducted as a Disney Legend at a ceremony in Anaheim,
Calif.This honor granted her permission to perform the Hannah montana songs in the future.
Hannah Montana,which premiered in March 2006,quickly became a cultural phenomenon. The show
