The case centers on reports from students at the Air Force Military Academy in Wrocław, where a company commander was charged with 22 counts related to alleged abuse, including physical punishment referred to by students as “Karczycho” (the punisher). According to student testimonies, the majority could not endure the psychological pressure imposed during training.

The allegations surfaced through multiple Polish news outlets in late April 2026, detailing a pattern of harsh disciplinary practices within the elite military institution. Students described a regime where physical corrections were routinely applied, contributing to a climate of fear and mental strain.

Following the accusations, military prosecutors opened formal proceedings against the officer in charge of the company. The 22 charges brought against him reflect the severity of the alleged misconduct, which included both physical and psychological components of the disciplinary system.
