Milk Powder Regulation in Limbo: TÜSEDAD Sets the Record Straight Amid Suspension Claims
Milk Powder Regulation Continues Until 2024
The association has addressed recent claims in the media regarding the regulation of milk powder. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, through the Meat and Milk Institute (ESK), has implemented a milk powder regulation that will continue until December 31, 2024.
The practice began with unions and cooperatives facing reduced milk prices in their region, requesting a milk powder quota for that province from the provincial faculties of agriculture. The central organization distributed the total quota for the province to the unions and cooperatives based on the amount of milk they collected. ESK has stepped in, contacting the milk powder production facility closest to the region and directing the milk for milk powder production.
The recommended price for hot milk with 3.6% fat and 3.2% protein, set by the National Milk Council for the purchase price of raw milk, is 14.65 lira per liter. This amount will be received by the producer, with additional costs for cooling, transport, and other expenses paid separately. There will also be a difference of about 22 kurus for each sequence (0.1 change) in the basic fat and protein ratios.
The association advises against paying attention to news reports claiming the milk powder regulation has been repealed.
