Milliardaire Wealth Surge: Oxfam Report on Davos Leaders

For ⁢the first time, the world counted over 3,000 billionaires last year,‌ with a combined wealth of⁣ $18.3 trillion,⁣ according to the NGO.

Billionaire wealth reached a record in 2025, “undermining political freedom” and fueling inequality, Oxfam denounces Monday, pointing to the policies of Donald Trump ahead of the Davos launch of ‍the ‍annual gathering of ‍the wealthy and ​powerful. The U.S. president is​ expected Wednesday at the meeting ​organized this week in the Swiss Alpine resort by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The 12 richest billionaires “own more wealth than the poorest half ​of humanity,” approximately four⁢ billion people, Oxfam denounces in its‌ report on‌ inequality, which annually highlights the increasing⁤ wealth of the super-rich.
