A Montreal woman living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) has launched a unique initiative to⁣ empower others with the condition through ⁤shared outdoor experiences.

Ariane Archambault, 28, founded the Millimole club on World⁤ Diabetes Day, November 14th.Diagnosed with T1D at age 11, Archambault is⁤ an ⁣avid adventurer who believes in the power of nature and movement.

“Living with Type 1 Diabetes ⁣is a daily challenge,” Archambault ⁢says. “Adding sports to the ⁤mix can feel overwhelming. I always wished I had a community to share the ups ⁢and downs, the tips and tricks,⁣ that come⁣ with being active with T1D.⁤ ThatS why I created⁣ the Millimole Club.”

The⁤ Millimole Club offers a ⁣supportive space‍ for adults⁣ with T1D to connect and engage in a ⁢variety of outdoor activities, ⁢including‍ hiking, cycling, swimming, and running.

Through shared experiences, the club aims to help members overcome the unique challenges ⁤of managing T1D while pursuing ⁤an⁣ active lifestyle.

“I want to help other people with T1D have positive and enriching experiences in nature,” Archambault ⁣explains.

The club fosters a sense of community and provides a platform for⁣ members to learn ‍from each other, share⁤ strategies for managing⁢ blood sugar levels during physical activity, and‍ build confidence in their abilities.

Interviewer: That’s a⁣ wonderful initiative. What⁢ kinds of activities does the Millimole Club offer?

Archambault: We organize all sorts of adventures! Hiking, cycling, swimming, running, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing… we even do virtual ‍cycling sessions⁤ on Zwift every Wednesday.

Archambault: We want to cater to all fitness levels and interests. We explore lovely locations around quebec, primarily near Montreal, the⁢ Eastern Townships, and the Laurentian Mountains.
